Bees On my Windshield!!!
« on: April 04, 2008, 12:32:12 am »
The box trick works well, if you have a queen. Well, this is the story.

Guy calls me about a swarm underneath a work trailer, that was pretty big, but had fallen into standing water beneath the trailer.

I performed the shake 'em in, get 'em in, and had a bunch in, and searched for a queen, and searched for a queen but couldn't find one. The bees in the box, I sprayed down with sugar water and had some others orienting to the box, but some still wanting to go to the trailer frame, but much more in the box.

Searched the box again, no queen. Searched underside of trailer, no queen. Looked over at my truck and my windshield and side mirror are covered with bees, I searched, no queen.

Had placed a queen cage on my side rail and had about 20 bees cover it.
These poor things wanted a queen so badly they were orienting to everything including my truck!

Got some neat pics and a few from a small cut-out I did as well.
Hope ya'll like 'em, they are unique.

I set the box on the hood and smoked the hell outta them. Most went in the box.

It is so funny I am always wrong in trying to figure out what exactly you do. Of course,I am always coming from a women's perspective and you are just to darn macho in how you handle those bees.

Just kidding JP and my bees are doiing great at the moment!!
