WestWego Bees Removed From Soffit With Emil-3-22-11
« on: March 24, 2011, 10:50:41 am »
Lots of bees in a very tight spot. Emil came by later on in the day and I put the monkey man to work in the attic space. He and I communicated through the open soffit area and I could see his hand movements.  While positioned over the ceiling joists Emil was able to catch the queen, then hand her to me through the open soffit!

This could have been a real nightmare but we managed to get the job done and find the queen!

Hope you enjoy the video!

Thanks JP and Emil,
That was great to watch.  My daughter enjoys your videos just as much as I do and demands more bees after every viewing.  Keep up the good work.

Can we possibly clone Emil?  I can't seem to find good help here when I have removals.  Pam is willing to help, but she doesn't like heights, doesn't do ladders, doesn't like attics, etc, so I end up doing them myself.  Her brother came once to help, but said it's too much work.  If I promise to feed him and take good care of him, are you willing to share Emil?  Maybe we can work out a time share deal....LOL

Good job, as always!  Keep making the videos as they are fun to watch, and great teaching aids.

Another good'un! You've been busy!

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. Newbee here!  I just started watching your videos a week ago or so......and,

I am wondering what you do with all the bees you collect?

As a previous poster has stated, I love watching your videos.  I have learned a great deal and continue to be amazed by your "technique" for getting the bees out of various places.

Keep 'em coming!

To answer a few questions: Gail, anyone who helps me remove bees gets the bees & many also go to my bee yards.

Emil is his own man, if you want to hire him, he is for rent, to the highest bidder!  :-D A little tip though, he really likes the smoothies I make, especially the ones with bee pollen in them.  ;)

Another good one.  :-D

Was this on the north side of the house and an east wall?

Thx again,

Jay

What beautiful comb and so, so many bees. It really looked impossible to me, but having found the queen, it all works out.

So JP, was it actually one hive or two??

I learned something very interesting today from this video. You mentioned not to vacuum the combs that have honey and bees because the bees will stress out and regurgitate the honey into the bee vac.   That was some important information. (not that I plan on getting a bee vac, but if I do, well I will be prepared :-D)

Thanks JP for another wonderful video.

One hive Annette with two entrances. Try not to vacuum bees that are feeding on honey, these are the ones that may regurgitate.
