Swarm Removal Photos

Hi Everyone,

I have a couple of photos of mine and TwT's aka "Teds" adventure this Saturday. We got into a large and quite old hive that we only got about 1/2 of due to it being in the floor and walls between the 1st and 2nd floors. This house was built in the 1940's. What a mess that was! I have never seen so much honey. We pulled out almost 5 gallons of honey before we ever hit brood. We pulled out at least 20 layers of comb in the 1st floor joist tunnel and Ted got about 6 to 8 from the 2nd before we had to quit due to lack of being able to reach the rest.

Needless to say we were tired after it was all over. Ted got a hive of bees out of it all and I got 5 gallons of honey. Ted doesn't know if we got the queen or not. That hive was so large I get it had more then one. We both made a little money. It was really great to meet TwT (Ted). Hope to work with you again Ted. Lets get an easy one next time whataya say?

BTW I really liked your beevac. Really smart idea. Very resourceful.

yeh I enjoyed it also Scott, this hive was big and seemed like it was going honey bond, only found a few frames with brood, everything else was honey, like he said it was on of those bad removals, the inside walls were stucco and the outside brick with a little sideing to work with, the comb ran down between the brick and stocco and she was going to get a contractor to work them walls, we wasn't... but we got most of it....
