Yes, I've done it plenty of times from 10 feet to 100 feet. They'll eventually get it. Especially a newly hived
swarm that doesn't have all of their bearings yet.

If you got to move them, move them. Some people place branches, leaves, grass in front of the hive to cause them to re-orientate.

Wait until evening when they're all in. Placed rolled up window screen at the entrance, then move them.

Hit the nail on the head thats my plan. I hope the bees that are clinging on to the sid wil go in for the night. If i smoke just the outside will they go inside or just leave ?

You can drive them with smoke.

Ok smoked the hive and threw my strap around it. Then i felt a crawling in my pants..... $^* i have elastic in my cuffs. Well after doing the hokeypoky :devilbanana: in the dark im standing there with my pants&suit around my ankels. 3 time i was stung in the legs. At least i got the most currios bee outa some where else before it was to late. Im putting draw strings in the pants cuff now.
SO it went fine after i ductaped my opening closed. some banches crossed infront of the hive and i spilled syurup inside so the girls are eating tonight. hope they still decide to stay even tho i really fuged this easy move up. I only ened up moving them 50 ft farther away.
Im going to remove the brances tusday morning on my way to work.
