Title: a furry sphynx

I have posted usually hairless sphynx. I have captured one alive. The photo is not perfect, but you can see why is called sphynx (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esfinge_%28escultura%29).

Looks more like an insane fu-manchu to me :-D

We have lots of different type of sphynx moths, but none that really resemble the statute in Egypt.  Maybe yours was the first to be named that and then the others in the family just inherited the name.
