This is my first year in a LONG time to *NOT* have a garden.  I do have my regular herbs still growing... (Borage, mint, dill, etc) - but I'm remodeling my house so that I can sell it at the end of the year & move out to east Texas - so no time this year for the garden unfortunately.

Homebrew and gourds.

Gourds will die if you tend them and homebrew will work itself.

Food Wise:
This year I was planning to increase the size of the blueberry patch, especially since I found a nursery that sells the plants 5' tall sometimes.

I'm also hopefully germinating seeds to High Bush Cranberry, which isn't a cranberry but they look the same.

Tomatoes, Potatoes, and Peppers are usual.

Flower Wise, assuming I can grow them from seed, I'm adding:
Purple Milkweed, which is the complement to Butterflyweed no one seems to be growing.

Poke Milkweed, which grows in full shade. More milkweeds for the Monarchs the better.

Amsonia, which more people should really grow.

White False Indigo, really more of a bumblebee plant.

Aconitum uncinatum, our native monkshood which is a low growing vine more people should plant. They grow in damp shade and flower in late summer. Monarchs love the flowers.

Nodding Onion

and a patch of Sunflowers.

Landscaping Wise:

Rhododendron austrinum 'Millie Mac'

Sweet Bay Magnolia

So far...

As someone with tons of blueberries, plant those boogers now.   Don't wait until spring.

Dadgum!  Thanks for reminding me about the gourds!  I DO need to put out my loofah seeds - the bees LOVE the blooms!

Oh no, Iddee, why is that?  The vines I planted last year all died out (it was very hot and dry), and I have a lot more growing now.

Planted four grape vines, some apple and peach trees. Planting four more blueberry plants. Probably will wait to late summer to put in about 6 acres of Will clover that I tried last year to see how it did in another patch and was impressed how it is looking going into spring. Garden will have to wait for next season, with all the other projects going on there is no way that I will have any time for it.
