I may have posted a picture of this vine in a prior post, but I was previewing some pictures and thought I would put these pictures in, they are slightly different. This Passionflower Vine had the most interesting flowers I have ever seen. It eventually gets orange tiny fruits, but my dog bit off the long vines and it never got to mature, eeeks. I have no clue what got into the head of this dog, but he sure had a good time. I had it in a big pot sitting on my front stairs, southern exposure and it was getting enormous, I kept twining and twining itself around itself. Very beautiful. I have brought this plant indoors for the winter, and it will go back out in late spring. Have a wonderful and beautiful day on this earth. Cindi

their fruit makes agreat cocktail! I forget whether they need a pollinator or not.

There is a difference between the passion flower vine and the passion flower that produces fruit. I have the vines that do not produce fruit growing wild in my yard. I also bought a purple and yellow passion fruit vine. The yellow didn't do so well and the purple needs other purples to cross pollinate with. We smuggled in some from Tassie. So it should be an interesting year.

This particular passion flower vine that I have did produce fruit, they were getting nearly ripened (the flower turned into the fruit, hee, hee), and then the dog bit the vine up and the fruit went with it. I was kind of annoyed to say the least, I was babying this vine. I should have hung it in the huge macrame hanger that I was supposed to make. The pot it is in is ceramic and very heavy, I thought it would look so nice hanging off my front porch. Oh brother, laziness got to me this year and I never got to a'makin' any of the macrame stuff that I went all the way across to the other side of the river to get the material for. That will be one of my winter projects (along with so many others, ha, we'll see how far I get). I brought the vine inside and it is growing like a mad demon in my south facing window, along with all the other sunny tropical plants. It may flower, but I think it is a summer flowering plant, not sure. HAve a wonderful and beautiful day. Cindi
