Inspection camera
« on: November 24, 2013, 12:30:50 am »
I found an inspection camera for $55.00 today ,   I've wanted for quite a while the lowest price I found was around $89.00 a few months ago. I tried it out on my hives , it fit through the mouse guard , I could see bees clustered between the frames, I have a couple of removals to do this spring, It should come in handy to see the extent of hives in walls, along with alot of home projects.

Yeah...I'd be interested in some details...

The ones I've looked at have been priced at around $100 more than the numbers you're mentioning...

I found it at Walmart, Burlington, Iowa ,they have an aisle for Christmas, that has all kinds of special tools, they only had 1 left when I got mine, you might check Walmart.com if you don't have a local store, the camera is a whistler brand real time camera.

I think the cameras are a special deal, the ones I saw on the website are twice that, I wish you luck, I felt lucky to find this one , there was a large box of these the day before I bought this one.

Yes Carol that looks just like the one I bought. It is a Whistler brand ,Old Mech. It was in the middle of  an aisle by automotive and sporting goods with boxes of knives, tools and other Christmas gift type items.

Thanks! I have wanted one of those for a while but had never considered looking into a hive with one. Double bonus!

Acquired a Bosch PS90 this past year & have used for 5 cutouts, I did not want do cutouts before having a tool that would provide a way to better quote a job. So far pleased with the PS90 however pricey for unit that did not come with recording accessories. Of note the exploratory holes for the probe are 1"; pretty large and want fit in a spark plug hole LOL. Appears the probes become more expensive the smaller they are.

When I tried mine out the bees were clustered ,it didn't seem to bother them too much , but I just took a quick look and got out, the camera has 4 brightness settings on the light I had it on the brightest to see some detail, on one of the dimmer settings you just see a bunch of tiny eyes looking at you.
