I am just starting out and my question is that here in Newyork I see hive`s with only large supers ,no med. or shallow?. I have bee`s coming in a week and I have two large supers to start ( should I then go to med. supers and why?)

It is a personal preference thing. Its mainly related to weight. The deeps weigh a considerable amount more than a medium when filled with honey. I run all mediums in the hive body and supers.

Thanks James for your help, I was not sure if it was weight or that the bee`s would fill it up faster.
