Swarm cell question please
« on: July 02, 2009, 12:29:47 am »
So one of my hives is preparing to swarm and I just did a split.(see other post about this)

But I was looking very carefully yesterday at the queen cells in the hive and noticed that even though the queen cell was completely capped over, the bees were all over it giving it attention.  What are they doing to it???? Are they just loving it to death, or giving it some nutrients somehow by walking all over it??

Just curious
Annette

Once the cell is capped, its really just a waiting game, I like your explanation though "What are they doing to it? Are they just loving it to death..."
