Title: REDBEE's honey house
Post by: hardwood on August 07, 2011, 08:40:33 pm
Hi ya'll! Sorry that I haven't been very active here lately but I've been traveling and working so much I haven't had a great deal of time. I thought you might enjoy a glimpse of Bruce Hanson's (REDBEE) honey house. This is all just raw footage so forgive me if it's a little crude.

I'll make sure to video the extraction process when we start pulling the honey. The storage room is now empty of supers with all 10,000 or so stacked on hives and about full!!!

Holy freakin cow! 10,000 deep supers? I knew Redbee had a few thousand hives but I guess I never did the math on the amount of supers required.

I spoke with Peggy today & she said Scott went home for a short stint then was right back with Redbee. Must be those peanut butter pies?

Yeah, come on Scott, Peggy said you have the camera with you. Poor thing is doing all your removals and trap outs and can't show proof. No proof, no credit! I believe her though, mostly.  :-D

Nice video Scott, but what I want to know was Redbee born into this business or did he build it up slowly over time.

Redbee knows his stuff. He started out with just a few packages 2 years ago and split them to 3500!  :)

You   got that wrong K -9 it took 3 :-D. No really I started working for a commerical beekeeper who wintered his bees in Tx. where I'm from right after high school.I worked wages for several years learning the ins and outs, then started running the outfit on shares and then making payments on it ,all the whille building my bee count up.I could not have done it with out the help from my best friend & partner Abe who passed away 5 years ago.
