Free Bees?

Ok this is a really stupid question. Where the heck can you find swarms? I hear everyone talking about how great it is to always find swarms every spring or whatever. I can't seem to find one! Where do you look and what are the best seasons?

The best place to start might be the local police. Give them your name and number, and tell them you're interested in collecting any swarms people call about. People freak out on seeing a swarm in their yard, and call the police. :) Or, get in touch with any other beekeepers in your area. Surely they'll have a hive swarm, and if they know someone wanting it, they'll call. I'm not sure what the swarm season would be for your area, but my guess is that it's somewhere between the begining of April and the end of June or July. I live in Georgia, and I had my hive swarm at the begining of March.
