Hello everyone. I'm a 20 year old male from ohio, and I want to get some bee's this year. I've been learning a lot here on the forums and online. Beemaster seems like a great guy, so i thought I'd join the forums if I needed any advice. Right now im just searching, and I'll probably place some orders soon. My family thinks I'm insane, but this is fascinating, and boy do I love honey. If anyone here is from the northern ohio area let me know! Thanks for all the help

Galen, its a wonderful kind of insanity! :-D Actually there's nothing about keeping bees that's insane, if anything it could help a person become more sane. There is an almost spiritual connection with nature when you are working bees. You can't help but lose yourself and focus on what's real when you're working a hive, they are truly marvels of nature. I am excited that you are excited about keeping bees, you're gonna love it! Best of luck.
Sincerely, JP

Galen, update your profile so you are no longer hopelessly lost :) That way when you post again people will know what area of the country you're posting from so the advice will be more applicable.

Galen, I love your name by the way. Welcome to our forum, yes, you have found the right place for learning and learning more. It is a place where you will spend lots of time, learn of things and it will be worth it for you. I am happy that you found our forum, we all learn by questions that people ask, so ask any question, you will always have answers. If you think that your family thinks that you are nuts now, wait for awhile, they ain't seen nuthin' yet. Have a wonderful, awesome day. Cindi

Thanks everyone! I updated my profile a little bit, nothing real exciting. I actually got to look at some beekeeping supplies today. I stopped by Queen Right Colonies today. Unfortunately nobody was there, but I wandered around and saw frames and boxes and smokers all in person. Everything looks just like it does online. Since I'm serious about trying this out, I guess I just need to send in my form to the state, and start spending some money haha.
