Added wax on queen cell - Did this killed my queen ? ( photos )
« on: September 11, 2013, 03:57:47 am »
I made an attempt of rising a few queens for first time and made so many mistakes. Only 3 cells accepted by bees and i had not placed a wax sheet for building. So those cells after they were capped, bees build comb on them. Is this the reason of not emerging ? When i opened this cell the queen was not alive.

Not sure what you mean, added wax? Too many variables there to attempt an answer.

Yep, need more information.  Wax in first pic seems OK.  How old was that cell?  Perhaps you opened too early?  Why and when did you open?   Why was queen not allowed to mature?

I opened it on DAY 17. But queen was dead, not moving at all.
Is the comb surrounding the Queen Cell fine, or a problem ?

The added cells around the queen cell look normal to me.

Why did you open the cell?  It may have only needed a little more time.  Did workers have access?  Were there signs that it was being taken care of or neglected?  It looked fine to me, even the dead queen "looked" OK.

Thanks for your answers, i just wanted to know if those cells is a problem for the queen trying to get out of the cell. I opened the cell because also  similar cells had dead queens inside. Other queens died earlier, i found them in earlier stage.

IMHO It looks like you kill the queens by opening them up to early
