Title: Swarm Distance

My question is if you see a swarm and the next day there gone, could they be close to where they were, what is the adverage distance a swarm will travel and set up a hive?

In my experience, it could be 100 yards or eight miles or more.  More often than not it's only a quarter or a half a mile.
