New Here
« on: July 08, 2011, 11:35:43 am »
Hi!  I found this site while I google searched for information on beekeeping.  My name is Teresa and I live in central Mississippi.  My husband and I have been giving thought to taking up beekeeping and are a little overwhelmed with everything that is out here on the web.  I stumbled upon this site and thought I might give it a try to talk to people who are actually involved in beekeeping.

I look forward to hearing from you all with information and suggestions.

Teresa

Welcome, this a fantastic place to learn. Good luck when you decide to make the plunge.   :)

The people here have been a wealth of knowledge for me. I read everything I could possibly find on beekeeping before I got started several years ago but nothing teaches you like doing. Still there are things you don't know and these are the folks to go to. Good luck. I'm just south of the delta in Carroll co. Holler if I can help.

Welcome to the forum. You might want to look into local bee clubs for classes and to find a mentor. -Mike

Thank you all for such a warm welcome!  I have gone to our local library and have checked out every single book they had and have requested several from other libraries.

I will continue reading and I am sure that I will be jumping in here with questions....

Thanks for the welcome!
