Is there no natural source within a half mile? If so, it's close enough.

do you have a neighbor with a pool that has chlorine.  ;) Mine love the pools in the neighbor hood. and they also love the runoff from water softeners. the minerals and salts. they just lick it up off the ground. when mine backwashes within a hour there are thousands of bees covering the area. Mine is on a timer and I think they have learned when it goes off.

anything they won't drown in will do.  i find they like it better away from the hive.  i have a stock tank turned upside down by my barn.  i dump water on the bottom grids once a day or so when i'm up there.  they also like the mud around the water trough and salt blocks.

Thats plenty close.   Bees are flying over way past to get nectar and pollen.

.
Take a 20 litre plastic jerry can. Fill it with water, put upside down and can mouth onto a dish or something.

Put moss on plate that that "huge feeder" gives water all the time when bees suck it.

PIC: This way but 20 litre can + vast dish + moss / sand

It would be tough to find any location in Wisconsin that doesn't have water close enough
