I have been a bee keeper for 2 seasons now and have 4 hives.  This is all that I am allowed in a residential area here.  I went through the apprentice program run by the pcbeekeepers.  The mentor program is fantastic and brings in a lot of new keepers each year.

I brought in the bees initially to pollinate my garden and am finding that they choose what they want to pollinate.  The neighborhood has enjoyed the additional produce.  This is the first season that I have an excess of honey for my self and the neighbors.  It was also the first year that I did rounds with some success.  The girls are always presenting me with new challenges.  This is the most enjoyable part of keeping.  If it was the same all the time...
