Title: When to add a super to new hive with old comb?
Post by: Dange on April 25, 2012, 10:28:14 pm
My first bees did not make it thru the winter so I bought new ones. Before they arrived I still had a small opening and had robbers coming in. I had someone check it all out before I added the new bees to the old hive. I know the rule of thumb if they didn't have comb built but what is it when I already have established comb to add a new super? Thanks.

That's what I was thinking. When they have brood in about seven or eight.
