extra queen...what now?
« on: June 21, 2004, 02:39:04 pm »
By a miscommunication I was sent another queen from another supplier. My only hive was queenless and broodless (as far as uncapped brood) so I got the one, but now this morning another one was sitting at the post office waiting for me. I have a double deep brood box that is now on its way to being filled with honey, a single medium deep super, two queens, and absolutely no brood. (Also no extra hives on hand.) Anyone want to advise me what to do with this situation? Should I try and run two queens, try to split...I am at a loss.

Where do you live? So we know how early winter comes your way.

I think that is what I'll  do, at least for now.
