my first cut out!!!!
« on: August 03, 2011, 12:23:17 am »

Well its fun but when its 100 it sucks.  I was soaked head to toe.  I used a sawsal and circular saw.  and wouldnt ya know it there was a wire running up wall behind siding strips we cut in half.  Anyway it looks like a 2 month old hive, and honey was nasty lol.  Not sure what happened to that.  All in all ill do it again.

Hate to say it but that old wood lath
Usually means asbestos era, Housing

I don't know if it is for sure and don't know
if asbestos has a taste but,I wouldn't eat anymore
In fact you may want to pull it after the bees get
back to normal Business
I also can be way off, so lets see what the Pro's
have to say

if it's like my place, there was no insulation or anything else to have asbestos in it.  it might be pre-asbestos.
Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.

Plaster walls.   Ya, it's old.   And sucks about cutting that wire, but nice pic.  I like the reflection in the window.

I just bought a house beside mine and it too had the lath and plastor. I spent $500.00 for an asbestos inspection and was told no asbestos in the house. There was no installiation in the walls either.

no there was no insulation,  just a lot of termite damage lol.  Im surprised the house hasnt fell down.  Some of the glass panels in windows were the old wavy ones, pretty neat.  so yes it might be pre-asbestos

I wish i would have taking more pics but hard to do with all the comotion and sweat dripping off me.  the guy behind me was the owner.  He wanted to help lol.  good thing bees were calm ones

If someone would invent a bee suit with air conditioning, i would kiss there ..........................

Wow, very impressive!! Electricity is no joke, so good thing you didn't electrocute yourself.

You may want to consider trying Nike Dr-Fit or Under Armour Heat Gear appareal with your suit to keep you dry. Maybe someone will invent a bee suit made out of these fabrics one day. :-D

Maybe somebody should send the contestants for the next season of “The Biggest Loser” to a bee yard to work in the summer.  Put them in a standard bee suit and see how much weight they lose!  I can’t imagine any other activity that works up such a sweat.

Yep, wood lathe equates to plaster interior walls and I see wooden exterior. I wouldn't think asbestos would be an issue on this house but watch out for those wires!
