Title: Hive entrance behavior
Post by: Carol on June 02, 2013, 03:22:29 pm
I've noticed there are always several bees washboarding and fanning, if it is hot, at one end of the hive entrance. They'll be at one end for 4 or 5 days and then they'll be at the other. I figure they must be staying close to the part of the hive the queen is in. Am I right? I think fanning only one half of the entrance allows air to circulate out...but the end changes ever few days. Other than the week the front was covered with washboarders...this is the norm for my hive.
