I would like to add some bees from a laying worker hive to a queenright hive. I was thinking of dumping them in front of the good hive instead of taking a chance of trying a paper combine. Thoughts?

Dump them out. I would not combine. How long have they been queenless and why do you feel you need more workers this late in the season?

Well, I feel like the queenless hive is doomed anyway so might as well add them to another instead of a slow decline to the hive.

.
they are old bees and it is better to dump into rain, river, sevage, fire or what ever. They do not live many days if you join them.

Finski is right. If the hive was queenless these are old bees and not of use to your other colony. Most likely they will consume resources better left to the strong colony.
