And we danced......
« on: August 01, 2008, 11:59:21 am »
We love to dance.....all of us and we can have a dance night on our finished patio.  The patio has existed for many years, but my Husband put a new roof on the entire patio.  Prior to the roof, only the upper floor had a roof, but it was fiberglass panels and leaked like a son of a gun.  The new roof is wonderful and has three skylights in it to make it bright and wonderful.  That it is.

We love now to sit outside under this covered patio, it is much warmer and dry as the dickens, that will be so nice for the forthcoming winter and the mud and wet that used to come into our home.  I would always have towels at the front of the door to try to prevent moisture from coming into the home, that was a lot of work, to keep these towels current.  Seems rather weird now, doesn't that, but I am pretty anal about dirt, hee, hee.  Imagine that, the girl that lives in the dirt and weeds, hee, hee.

A couple of weeks ago we had a dance night, my Sister, her Husband, my youngest Daughter and us.  And can my Husband and I jive, we have honed that skill very nicely over our 27 years of grand marriage.  We stayed up late, dancing and dancing.  My Brother-in-Law is Chilean and taught us all how to Salsa, oh what fun!!!!  About midnight my Grandson and Nephews were having a sleep over at my Sister's house and they came up and also danced.  We all taught them the "Macarana", oh can those young men dance and doodle!!!  Good for them.  Just thought I would share a few pictures of our dance night.  The patio has enough room for at least 10 people to dance their little hearts away.  Beautiful and most wonderful day, love our lives, so worthy of love.  Cindi

My youngest Daughter and I, no clue what dance, hee, hee.  I will have to add that photo later, Imageshack was having a slow download time for some reason, mostly it is fast, but that picture just didn't want to come in here, hee, hee.  C.

OOOhh JP, you've gone and done it now!  You're gonna be in big trouble with Cindi
Cindi, those are wonderful pictures. You are so blessed to have your family so close & the ability to interact with so many of them, specially the young ones!  The covered porch would be so nice!  It's usually not that cold around here, just the rain & drizzle.  It really expands your living space..& the ability to get all the muddy icky stuff OFF before going into the house would be wonderful!   Jody

Ha!!!  Disco, disco duck!!!  Was that how it went, hee, hee?  Jody, yep, yep, I am a fortunate woman, I do know that, my family is a group of shining stars in my eyes.  I'm going to see if I can get this picture of my youngest gal and I doin' our thing.  There was other funny stuff that went on that particular night, you should have seen all us girls in some of the videos wagglin' our butts to a song, kind of looked like the bee waggle dance, hee, hee.  The videos were funnier than all get out, and man did we get a kick out of looking at them the next day.  Can my Daughter ever do the wiggle, with the butt to go along with it, well, my Sister and I, that is another story.

My youngest Brother is in the movie industry (I am so proud of this young man!!!).  This morning he is coming over around 9:00 to dig a hole out the back.  Big enough for a grave, hee, hee.  I don't think it will be very deep, and we have to put "fake" yellow electric fencing wire around it so the horse doesn't wander in it.  He is going to bring his film crew over later this afternoon to film a burial of something for a mini movie or something like that.  I don't know too many details yet.  I will take pictures, it should be a hoot and a hollar.  Last early fall he and his film crew came to our place and filmed the final episode of "Road Hockey Rumble" here.  I think I told you all about it in a post.  They tortured the captain of the loser team by flinging apples at him with giant slingshots.  I couldn't be here for the filming, had another engagement, so I didn't get to see it in the real, but saw it on TV, too bad, I was really caught between a rock and a hard place that day, but I couldn't let my Husband down, it was a family get-together at his Sister's house.  That prevailed.  Beautiful and the most best of this day wishes to us all.  Cindi

My youngest Daughter and yours truly!!!

That is such a neat idea!  Thanks for a great idea to add to family night options!  We will probably have a little better cooperation once the rest grow up some more...not toooo fast though.
Everyone said it couldn't be done. But he with a chuckle replied, "I won't be one to say it is so, until I give it a try."  So he buckled right in with a trace of a grin.  If he had a worry he hid it and he started to sing as he tackled that thing that couldn't be done, and he did it.  (unknown)

qa33010.  You may be surprised how much little children love to dance.  On Saturday we had another family dinner and a dance night.  Even all the little ones danced.  My six year old Niece was the highlight of the evening.  She had the fastest and coolest dance moves I have ever seen.  Her little hands spinning around and around and then the hands pointing the fingers to the sky, like the dancing on Grease.  Oh it was a hoot and a hollar, what a night.....beautiful, most wonderful days, Cindi
