Minnesota Mann Lake Packages
« on: May 02, 2013, 12:37:00 pm »
Anybody else getting them?  They are supposed to be coming any day now and I am getting anxious.  Part of me is also getting nervous that they will arrive and forget to call.  Rather unfounded fear I suspect, but it's getting late enough that my mind is racing!  Everything is ready.  Just need to make up the syrup and patties.

When my packages came this year they were delayed a day due to .. well I don't know why they were delayed. But I made quite the pest of myself with USPS.

Make no mistake.. they won't forget to call you. When my bees arrived the next day they called me at 7:00am to let me know I could pick them up. Postal employee even told me to call his cell when I got there if they weren't open yet. They were very earger to get them out of the post office.

They are pickup only.  They come in on a semi load and they call you to come get them.

I'm sure everything will be fine. I was the same way with mine as the day drew near. I had to pick mine up from the beek directly but I was still scared he would't call or would run out. But all my fears were unfounded.

Good luck.

The other issue is that I took time off in anticipation.  They gave me a two week window for when they generally come.  I go back to work on the 7th.  I work 12 hour shifts.  So if they don't come by the 6th I will be in a bit of a spot.  Keeping my fingers crossed for this weekend.

Don't sweat it, the bees will only need you long enough to shake the package, install the queen and add feed. They can take it from there.

I just received a call.  They will be ready for pickup may 11th.  They will also be 2 lb packages instead of 3 lb packages.  They are decreasing the cost as a result, but this was very disappointing to hear.
