Title: The Blue Cross Test
Post by: leominsterbeeman on January 31, 2005, 08:09:26 pm
I've been having problem with my heath insurance provider,  listen to this story about someone else with a different problem.

Mr. Smith goes to the doctor's office to get his wife's test results.

The lab technician says to him, "I'm very sorry, sir, but we've had a
bit of a problem. At the same time we sent your wife's samples to the
lab, the lab also
received samples from another Mrs. Smith, and now we're not sure which
results are your wife's. But, frankly, it's either bad news or terrible
news!"

"What do you mean?" said Mr. Smith.

"Well, one Mrs. Smith tested positive for Alzheimer's, and the other
Mrs. Smith has tested positive for AIDS.
And we can't tell which is your wife's test."

"This is terrible!" cries Mr. Smith. "Can't we do the test over?"

"Normally, yes," says the technician, "but you have Blue Cross Health
Care, and they won't pay for these expensive tests more than once."!

"Well, what am I supposed to do now?" said Mr. Smith.

"Blue Cross recommends that you drop your wife off in the middle of
town. If she finds her way home, don't sleep with her."

In my oppinion the lab messed up and owes someone (or two) another test. Only in the medical field ( I think) do you find when "they" mess up it cost you extra to have it done again. Doctors make a wrong diagnosis or gives wrong treatment will charge again for the correction.

A forinstance is; if a machanic messes up he will correct the problem and do it right at no extra charge. (An honest one anyway)

OK it was funny.

I was just expanding on the situation. Sure it was covered by insurance (sort of) and possibly not a completely true story (for all I know) But it ends up that someone paid for something they didn't get. So a plumber uncloggs your toilet, but now it flushes directly under the house. There is humor in it, but should the plumber be paid? Your home owners insurance sure isn't gonna pay for it if they knew about it.
