I just ran across this wonderful essay written for the 4H Beekeeping Essay as part of their beekeeping program. While a lot of the information is not new it is exciting to see the many young people that participate in the 4H programs. This is just one of the ways to help keep our rural economy and lifestyles going. Having been a 4H judge at the county fair for many years I see the decline in many of the rural areas of youth involvement due to other activities such as TV, games, computers etc. as well as encroaching subdivisions and shopping centers in the areas closer to the larger cities. Thought you would enjoy reading it.
