Bees Bearding
« on: August 06, 2007, 10:05:18 pm »

A swarm in May is worth a bale of hay.
A swarm in June is worth a silver spoon.
A swarm in July isn't worth a fly.

It was pretty cool the amount of heat that was being pushed out of the hive when I placed my hand in front of the hive entrance. I can see why a top entrance is so important during the summer.

Yesterday I added an extra super for the bees. There was still frames that were not compleatly full in the second super so I don't think the bees were overcrowded just hot. The extra super should give them some relief.

Has anyone ever placed a top hat on top of their hives?

CWBees.  Nice pictures, and yes, that one does look like it has a face   Thanks for bringing in the pictures.  Have a wonderful day, great life.  Cindi
