Greetings from new WI beekeep
« on: June 03, 2011, 06:24:29 pm »
I've had bees since May 10 and seem to be on this forum every spare minute, especially after hive inspections.  Addicting doesn't describe this.  I thought the wife was bad when she started keeping chickens.  Now I'm sitting by the hive watching bees fly in/out, and telling anyone who will listen about them.

What a wealth of knowledge in these posts.

Bees are better than any good drug.   Welcome to the forum.

I did the same thing when I got started. You could not shut me up and I think I drove many people crazy.

The guy I work most closely with won't let me talk about bees any more.  :-X  I lurk around the break room waiting for unsuspecting people who may have a keen interest in what bees are doing at my house.

I can't think of another addiction where you want to share what you have with anyone who happens along.
I think cayenne, I think cayenne.

Look into joining your local beekeepers association.   (Sometimes called Beekeepers Anonymous.)  Where Beeks get together and talk about their addiction.    But they teach you how to deal with your addiction so you don't have to give it up.   One of the few good addictions out there.   Help is out there.

Me too, I am crazy about honeybees even tho' I don't hardly know a thing about 'em! haha! I will accost any nursery folks harassing them about bee friendly fruiting trees and plants, I will bug and pester this forum too with all my crazy questions, lol! Too bad you aren't my neighbor. I'd be pestering you to death for more "bee stories" :D

Welcome!

I never get tired of talking to other beekeepers. It is an addiction for sure!

Hello from the top of the state.  We have bees, and my wife has chickens.  She just go this year's chicks.
