they look like they are doing ok. my frist bees, when do i add more boxs to them
-
they look good lee i just hived my first two hives saturday. i read that when they get 75% of the brood drawn out that you should put another hivebody on there. how many hives do you have? and what kind of foundation did you use?
-
the frist 3 hives was put out on 4-18-05. the one on far right was put out on saturday to :D never had bees before look like fun. and thanks
-
Like Bobby said, when they get about 7 out of 10 of the frames done, add another box.
Looks like you started off well. It sure is nice to be able to start with so many hives - to compare to eachother, or steal brood from when needed.

check on them today, 3 of the 4 hives are doing real good. but one of them is not doing to good, they don't even have a full frame of comb build yet. looks like a lot of them left the hive and the other 3 hives has up to 6 frames each build it looks for them. :D
-
80% = 8 frames, lol, makes it easier than trying to guess if they have 75% done, :D
-
:D when i look inside i seen a lot of larva to. in hives 2,3 & 4 none in hive 1 :(
-
In the picture which of the hives has no larva?
-
it's the frist one with a rock on it :( this is a pic out of hive 1(http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid169/pfd05a0dc74fc12dd5d1c096d31675230/f40b28a6.jpg)

Lee, if those are all of the bees that are left in hive #1, you might as well combine them with another hive (newspaper method), they must not have a queen in there and will eventually die off completely - no point in delaying the inevitable.
Even if you were to give them a queen right now, I don't think there are even enough bees in there to make the hive a go of it.
Anyone else have other thoughts?

there is about 2 times that many. but i dont think it is enough.i was going to try the newpaper today, but it was raining and a little cool outside maybe tommrow i hope. i dont know what happen to them, i think they went to one of the other hives. the bees above was put in the hives the same day they are doing real good. thanks
