Title: bees like
Post by: wd on May 02, 2010, 07:48:05 pm
Thought I'd post a few pictures on some of what's around that bees regularly visit when in bloom. I'm adding some links of the California privet (http://www.forestryimages.org/browse/detail.cfm?imgnum=5272062), didn't take any pictures as they aren't in bloom yet. Bee's love em (http://plants.usda.gov/java/nameSearch?keywordquery=California+privet&mode=comname&submit.x=9&submit.y=13) but they are invasive.

Pittosporum tobira (http://plants.usda.gov/java/nameSearch?keywordquery=japanese+cheesewood&mode=comname&submit.x=21&submit.y=9)

Hi wd,
That's great. I have been thinking about doing this more regularly for some time. You have inspired me. I'm in southern Cal. I will post mine.
Cheers,
Patrick

Yes, they are all over the privet out here now.  I usually can't wait for it to bloom.
