Yes, I have built and used the beevac(from beesource.com) and it works like a charm for feral hive removal. JUST be sure to caulk ALL the joints so the vacuum is not lost. The adjustment on the top is critical when using, because you don't want to kill the bees by banging them around too harshly on the ribbed vacuum hose. The only thing I changed in the plans was to add a foam carpet pad on the inside of the inner box.
