When the dearth?
« on: July 25, 2010, 08:08:54 pm »
Live in Iowa, does anyone know when the dearth comes here? Are there any old Grandpa sayings that cue people?  You know, like "Plant peas when the oaks bloom"?  Something like, "The dearth comes right after Queen's Anne Lace blooms"?  If someone can tell me when the dearth comes here, I'll make one up.

I think the dearth is now here in Iowa?  Does it occur before the Goldenrod comes in?  I have some swarm hives that I worry about, I'm thinking I should put up a sugar water feeding station.
