Title: Newbee Blunder- Requeening
Post by: Pillpeddler on July 27, 2010, 05:20:06 pm
I just found out the hard way that when you are using a queen cage to requeen your hive, make sure that you get the frame adjacent it good and snug.  Otherwise the cage pops open and the new queen is toast. :(   I saw a queen cell already started dont know if I should try to requeen again or take my chances on potluck.

Doesnt learning the hard way suck?  :-D

I can say this, cuz this is typically how I receive my formal beekeeping education.

Ain't it the truth...  new queen should be in the mail Monday, Lord only knows what I'll run into by then.  Probably another educational opportunity :-\
