Easy colony removal needed in Calif.
« on: February 16, 2008, 04:42:03 pm »
Just found an ad on Craigslist titled "Active Bee Hive - Experienced Bee Keepers only", listed under los angeles craigslist  > westside-southbay > farm & garden. They're in a 10-year old stack of dresser drawers (!) in someone's field or yard, he's just looking for someone to give them a home. Anyone?

Hey Kirk,

Snap some photos and post. I'd love to see them.

Yeah, who needs a Langstroth hive when all you have to do is check your drawers?

OK Guys I went an got those Bees when I got there I realized they were on a steep hill.It was tricky.The owner of the property said they had been there for
seven years.Well any way they were in two drawers.I cut them out and out them in a medium.I posted the pictures on organicbeekeepers on yahoo if you want to see the pictures.
I don't know how to post pictures here.
I left them there till the weekend so they can put things back together.
I'm going to go get them sat am.
I have one swarm traped this year one cut out I got another location for a few hives now.I'm up to 7 hives now

You mean these drawers?

I went to your picture. Right click the mouse on the picture. Select "COPY IMAGE LOCATION" and click on it. Come here and paste it. Then add [ img] at the front and [ /img] at the back of the link. No spaces. So the thing looks like this;
[ img ] http://f9g.yahoofs.com/groups/g_2574827/b520/__sr_/432a.jpg?grAs0xHBhOe8q_AB [ /img ]

only no spaces.
