I finally figured out how to upload a video to youtube. Unfortunately, in order to get it uploaded I had to change the format and size, so the quality suffered. In the original one from the camcorder you could see them bringing in several colors of pollen. Yellow, Orange, Brown, White, and almost flourescent Orange. You will probably miss that here with the poorer quality, unless you look realy close.
These are one of my first two ever packages in my brand new hives. I installed them last Wednesday onto brand new Pierco plastic frames/foundtion. I haven't looked in to the hives yet, as I'm waiting a full week to let them get settled in. I've only peeked in to see how much sugar water they've taken. I've got quart jars above the inner cover inside a super so I can check it without really disturbing them.
Now, can I assume that they've already built out some comb since they're bringing in pollen? I figured that maybe one out of every 8 or 10 had pollen. What would the others be doing? I don't think there is anything in bloom yet here other than maybe a few spring flowers and dandelions.
Anyway, this is so much fun so far. :-D
