Indiam Names
« on: December 08, 2010, 10:05:56 pm »
A man asked an American Indian what was his wife's name.

He replied, "She is called Five Horses".

The man said, "That's an unusual name for your wife.

 What does it mean?"

  The Old Indian answered,

"It old Indian Name. It mean...

 NAG, NAG, NAG, NAG, NAG!

"Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me . . . Anything can happen, child. Anything can be"

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

A young indian boy asked his father, father how did you name us children.  The old indians said well when your older brother was born I look out of tepee and see two ponies running in pasture so he named 2 ponies.  When your sister was born I look out tepee and see full moon so her name full moon but why you ask 2 dogs a humping

That was the joke I was expecting.  Since the first name a Lakota child gets is from a Winkte and it is usually something disgusting, this actually makes a fair joke.  I know people who's baby names were things like "little rotten piece of bone" or "anus at both ends".
