"This video arrived via gmail/buzz this evening with the heading "Colony Collapse Disorder Solved"

Yeah, she nailed it.  Notice her figures are all guesses from club meetings.  I also love where they cut the guy off when asked how the bees react to PESTICIEDS at "they dont like it but".  Well what was after the but?

I thought for sure she was going to jump up, hug a tree then offer us all some acid from Woodstock.
The moment a person forms a theory, his imagination sees in every object only the traits which favor that theory

Doh – “we can handle mites, no problem just poison the heck out of them… what we can’t handle is this CCD”

Go figure…

Doh – “although the bugs keep getting resistant to the poisons we dump on them --- well yeah the bees don’t like the poison but what are we going to do?”

Wake up and smell the roses…

Doh – We practice monoculture and we are proud of it no matter what the devastation numbers turn out to be

Oh come on WD how can we take this video seriously?
1. No $100,000 grants
2. No cages to wipe out 40% of your control (funny that is the number they are loosing from CCD)
3. No fancy instruments to play with
4. You didn’t involve the US Army
5. You don’t have any of the chemical companies scientists involved

In all seriousness this CCD is a serious problem.  It can’t be that easy to solve.

Or can it?

You want healthy bees, grab your hoe and start planting.

A tree hugger would grow pot because of all the beneficial properties of that crop.

A yuppie turned beek would have no problem dropping acid.  After all he does it to his bees with the fullest of confidence that it is the right thing to do.

I always find it funny when people can solve a little problem in their little backyards and think that it will scale indefinitely.

Maybe that's because they are also growing something else there too...

That's the point.  You have to grow everything.  You can't just grow one thing.

Cows weren't meant to eat corn, chickens weren't meant to eat corn.  So what are they fed?  Corn!  What are we fed?  Corn!  What are the bees fed?  Corn!  What are we going to die from?  Corn!
