Talk about dedicated, I stood there in the rain this weekend watching the girls going out and returning from foraging. I don't know if that means that there is some internal hive imperatives going...maybe wanting more food for developing brood?
Any guesses?

I saw the same with my girls - i'm guessing that there is something around that they're on to and they're wanting to build up! so they will take every opportunity.
Was there much pollen coming back or was it just nectar?

It just means some beeks aren't smart enough to get in out of the rain. :jawdrop: :lau: :lau:

Hahhaha well there is that point!
Hey Iddee - some areas of our state had over 8 inches of rain in a 24hr period!

From another forum....
>>>>Hard to believe, but Nixa,Mo. less than 5 miles south of Springfield reported 15 inches of rain over last Tues.& Wed.<<<<
How about nearly that much 2 days in a row??
-
Ok, ok, yours is bigger than ours! :)

What can I say, I'm a beekeeping tragic! :-D

Not sure what it means. They're foraging in the rain up here too. :)

Got a surprise myself. Went out in the rain on Saturday to check some drains and saw bees coming and going from the hives. Must not have wanted to waste the blackwood blossom here in Tassie.
