I look back when I wrote this post at how interesting and fresh a premise of the season and it was. I Thought of how everyone was awaiting to run into a future they could not change - and the great part was that everyone experienced the blackout, so even if you saw nothing, you know something happened and it was like awaiting a ticking bomb which you and everyone knew the explosion time on.
And unlike shows such as the 4400 where EACH WEEK you could introduce a new character into your shows linear time line, Flash Forward could intro new people, but their effects shaped the coming future.
One more pretty good show in the trash. I have to say the one I truly miss because 1) it was a great show and 2) had the best cliff hanger I ever saw: that show was SURFACE. the story about a awkward teen boy raising an engineered baby dinosaur/whale that was just one of millions ready to take over "The new world" after a giant tsunami wiped out most of the coasts of the US. It was exhilarating watching the 4 main characters come together, even if much of the story-line was unrealistic, it sold week after week!
Finding it was not coming back was a shocker, surely I wasn't the only one to watch this. CBS and ABC had similar (sci-fi based 1 hour shows) against this as all of them jockeyed for a night it could do good with ratings. I thought Surface was the only one which had a chance.
Surface was to Cliff-Hangers as OZ was to Series Endings - outstanding!
