One thing that's been on my mind....since I've considered recently a lightbulb as a heatsource.

What are you going to do when the light bulb burns out after 2012?

(other than grab another one from the stash of 20,000 bulbs in the basement)

Actually that is a good point.  You may want to consider having 2 bulbs for heat.  That way if one burns out, the other will keep it warm and you won't loose a batch of cells.

Also,  what are you using to control the temp?    I assume you are planning to put some wet sponges on the bottom for humidity as well.

  there is going to be temp control-second bulb optional
  Ron White has done a fine job with this and i am looking forward
   to using this on a regular basis -he is quite the craftsman and i was lucky

there is a second light in there you just cant see it from the angle of the picture and yes a sponge will fit just fine.

There are ceramic reptile heat elements that have a light bulb base, are about the same size as a light bulb and come in different watts.  If you were looking for another option.  Looks Great!

Is there a thermostat to control the heat?  If not??? I suspect you will likely cook any queen cells you might set into the box.

With all that insulation & double thickness of plywood, I hope it is big enough to put a couple of 5 gal. honey buckets in to liquefy crystallized honey.

Nice workmanship!    I have a Styrofoam chicken egg incubator that I kicked around using.  It has a 25 Watt heating element, a wafer thermostat and a fan for more even heat.  Cost about 80.00

its smaller then it looks bee-bop its large enought to put a 5 frame nuc inside it
