SHB do overwinter in hives in northern Vermont but the temperature does slow the SHB a lot.

i'm wondering if it's worth the effort to maintain my beetle traps during the winter. i'll not open the inner coveer to do it but could keep a trap on the bottom board. removing the entrance reducer to check them would not expose the cluster to cold. i only open the inner cover if a hive feels light & i need to feed it .

The SHB will not move much in the winter.  They will be in the cluster with the bees mostly.
