Title: expect the unexpected
Post by: oldenglish on April 08, 2009, 12:33:45 pm
I had planned on starting the year with two hives I purchased 4 deeps and 4 mediums (just in case). Then I built a TBH just for fun with the plan to use that if I was lucky enough to catch a swarm. Then I got the usual gift certificates for xmas and also a chance for a club order so I purchased an additional 4 deeps and a bunch of mediums. These extras were going to be my store for expansion next year.
Then I was given 3 packages, plus I have two on order, so now all the deeps are going to be in use and the TBH is also hived up. I may end up using mediums if I get any swarms, plus I now need to start building bases and covers as I only had those for two hives. Its a good feeling having too many bees :-D
