Finally taking the plunge in Arkansas
« on: August 24, 2012, 07:32:30 pm »
Greetings!

I'm Eric Francis, and I've wasted years being a wannabeekeeper. Had the suit and some tools and would help occasionally with other people's hives (and interview the occasional beekeeper for the newspaper I worked for), but never had my own hives. Well, I've finally decided to jump into the deep end and see if all my book-reading (and YouTube-watching) has left any impression at all. I plan to start small with a couple of hives in time for the first nectar flow next year. Meanwhile, I'm still helping with the bees in our community garden and reading up on the forum posts to glean knowledge from those who've been down this path before.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Eric Francis

Get you some bees!  Jump right in.  But wait until spring.  And welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum and you may want to join a local bee club.  Good luck and it is additive.

I plan to, Joe. The Central Arkansas Beekeepers meet on the first Tuesday of the month and I've got it on my calendar. And I've got a few beekeeping friends to lean on, as well.

American blood spilled to protect the freedom and peace of people all over the world.  320,000 USA casualties in WWI, 1,076,000 USA casualties in WWII, 128,000 USA casualties in the Korean War, 211,000 casualties in the Vietnam "conflict", 57,000 USA casualties in "War on Terror".  Benghazi, Libya, 13 USA casualties. These figures don't include 70,000 MIA.  But, the leaders of one political party of the United States of America continue to make the statement..."What difference does it make?".
