hi everyone my enterance reducer got pushed in alittle when i was trying to take it out. now its kind of wedged inside the enterance and everytime i try to get it out even with the smoker the bees get really angry. is there another way to calm down the bees or get in the enterance without being attacked :)

There is a reason why your bees are mean, but the reducer is not it. Leave the reducer in. It ain't hurting anything. Why do you think you bees were ill tempered with you?

How about a cloths hanger with a hook on the end? Another option is you could wait until night when the bees aren’t flying. Agree with Allen, bees are likely ill tempered for some other reason.

Lift up the bottom box then pull out the reducer.Are the bees trapped inside in the heat? If so open the top and letn the heat out for a while.This will also give them an extra entrance to use in the meantime.

Had the same problem. Felt sorry for the bees and tried to remove in the late afternoon when it was the hottest! Big mistake! I had a small pair of plyers and mashed a few bees and still didn't get the reducer out. Really made the bees mad and got stung on both hands. Didn't use the smoker. Learned a valuable lesson.
Early the next morning when activity was very slow I went out to the hive with my fencing tool and screw driver. Pried up the box a little, hooked the entrance reducer in the hole with my fencing tool and pulled it out. Took five seconds.
Have been singing "Jesus loves me" to the bees and seems to quiet them down. No problems for several weeks now.
