On average when you do a cut out how big is the hive?
Say in cubic feet of comb or square feet of comb.
Maybe gallon of comb even.
On average mine run about 4 square feet maybe a little more in Indiana.

four square feet of comb??
that sounds kind of on the small side to me, that would only be about four deep frames worth.
I usually get at least that in brood plus the honey comb.

Last one I did was a teacup of bees, no comb
One before that was 3 pints of bees and one piece of comb 6 inches square.
Before that, 2 foot X 5 foot, X 6 inches, packed with comb. 2 deeps of bees and brood, 10 gallon of honey comb.
Before that, 6 frames of brood, full deep of bees, 3...5 gallon buckets of honey.
What is average.
