Title: strange looking bee?

Hello I am new here, I saw this insect today that i have never seen before it looks like some kind of bee, can someone identity it, it was very fast and moved like a humming bird but it is the size of a large bee ,I live in central Virginia thx.

 I remember seeing those when I was a kid. I thought it was some sort of bumblebee.
 After doing a quick search, they turned out to be moths.

Yeah that's a hummingbird bee.  See them frequently a fascinating cross and rightly named as such.  🐝🐝

Thanks for the response from both of you,and the YouTube link, that is exactly what I saw. Fascinating, in all my 41years I have never seen such a strange looking insect!
