This is one of my little ones. He is dying to get out in the bee yard with me. He has been asking for a bee suit, and tomorrow his wish is coming true. LOL He is getting one for his birthday. He turns 7 and has no idea that he is ACTUALLY getting one.
He was very helpful in this pic. He was putting the frames together, and I was nailing them. Nice little assmebly line we had. Every time I grab some frames, he says, "Dad, are those the ones I built". :-D

very cool, I was introduced to bees at age 7 but didn't manage to take it up myself until now, thirty(mumble) years later.

Good looking young man you got there.

Ill bet hes like my 8 yo in that he is a little teacher to all the kids and many adults on how bees work and are needed in everyday life and how we need the bees. Keep up the great training. 8-)

Thanks! He gets that from his mother's side.
Yes, he really is a quick learner, and ready to ..... well, I was going to say, talk about it to anyone, but he is way too shy to do that. LOL He sure was happy to be into the bees today. Made my day!
Just wish I coulda found a beek suit that fit well. I could only find toddler size, or sizes for 10 yr old kids. He will grow into it, though. Here is a pic my wife snuck while we were walking to the bee yard.

looks like the Andy Griffith Show with bees. Not to be insulting, Mayberry was in a better time and place in all the right ways (I know it was just a tv show)

LOL... I see what you mean looking at the pic again. Not an insult. We love the Andy Griffith show. ;)

Its great being able to pass beekeeping down to the kids. My 6 year old loves it.
He took a beekeeping course at the local club, got his own suit for Christmas and I gave him his first hive this spring.
It seems the best time to start is when they are young and don't have any fear.
He cannot get enough information about bees and makes me explain every article that comes in the American Bee Journal each month.
He just gave a presentation to his class about beekeeping and the teacher was surprised about how much he actually knew.
That is a great picture of you guys walking to the bee yard together. :)

Great photo! My son and daughters help out. Son more than the girls lately. They do love the fact they each have their own hive and will work them with me. Their friends are always surprised and amazed when they are reminded my kids are beeks in training like their old man.
