Problems with the forum server
« on: June 27, 2007, 07:08:28 pm »
I am seeing this error when I am trying to reply. I don't see it every time but about half of the times I am trying to make a reply.

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

I am currently in a hotel in King of Prussia, PA.
This may be an issue with the hotel connection. It may not be.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

Currently looking at the Irish Bar across the street for dinner

Where in KoP are you? I grew up in that area (lived there for 27 years), so I know the area like the back of my hand. You might have better options than an Irish bar. :)

I was going to Kildare's. I have been there before.

I am at the Holiday Inn Express by the Ruth Chris (way to expensive).

I have not seen the problem in the last 15 minuets. Might have been the hotel.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

Not sure how long you'll be around, but:

In the mall itself is California Cafe, pretty nice place.

About a mile or two North on 202 is the Hilton, on the bottom floor they have a fantastic sushi restaurant, if that's your thing. It also has a hibachi. I'm pretty sure the restaurant is called Kobe, but I could be wrong about that.

The Cheesecake Factory is over in the Court, that's pretty good.

There are a ton of chain restaurants around, Chili's, Outback, Bennigans, etc, but I don't generally recommend those, since you can eat at those kinds of places anywhere.

Yeah, the Bennigan's is just around the block. I can see the Chili's from Kildare's. Thanks for the suggestions.

Brendhan

Well, as far as I can think, there may be several reasons for this.  For one, someone may be doing an sql injection attack on the login which, could account for the server being "busy".  Another, as you said, could be your connection.  You could just be unlucky and TCP is erroring more than usual.
