To whom do I complain?
« on: October 27, 2010, 06:08:03 pm »
The goldenrod has been going gangbusters this year! It's been blooming for 8 weeks now and still going strong.

The problem is that we haven't had a drop of rain in 4 weeks and the flowers have no nectar. Instead of 60-70lbs/hive I'll be lucky to see 30 :'(

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

It's Bush's fault. Everybody knows that.....

you have not bribed the proper preacher.  get off that hugh stash of honey you are setting on, give a bottle or so away to a variety of preachers and you will get some rain.

I guess you also want your little rain now?  perhaps raise the bribe to two bottle per preacher... that much prayer is bound to get you results.  beware...  three bottles is likely to get ya' a flood or hurricane.

ps... I have found the baptist preacher more profitable to bribe in this regards than the methodist preachers.  it may be the total immersion thing the baptist insist upon.

We have been getting rain here too finally.  Thank the lord.   We have been needing it something bad.   And some wind with it also.  Don't need it much.

Ya'll crack me up!

It's been unusually hot and dry for this time of year in Kentucky. I'm from far...far..far west Texas...and even still...
I don't like it.

One of our most popular weathermen in town says that he believes in 30 year cycles and we are ending our 30 years of "warm weather" and will soon be entering the 30 years of cooler weather.
Anyone else heard of this?

We are newbees...what do you think the bees make of this weather?
We've had hot days and cold nights. They seem to be a buzz when it warms up and leave and return to the hive.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Best,
Sarita

Gotta do the dance...

With the little Mai Tai umbrella.

That should do it.

Record hot temps for two days in a row here and very, very windy.

Hardly any rain.

Who to complain too???.....seems like about 5000 members of this forum.  ;) Oh wait, this might be whining, and not really complaining. Or is it a twisted way of boasting? Oh crap! Now I'm confused....

What was that complaint again? 8 weeks of goldenrod? That wonderful weather? That you even HAVE flowers?

Ah, why didn't I think of that!  Dance with a little umbrella, get a little rain....I opened up my BIG umbrella to make sure it wasn't broken and we are wet, wet, wet up here!  Still in the 50s during the day, though.
